Malawi is a small country at the southern end of Africa's Great Rift Valley. Unlike some of its neighbours, Malawi is still completely unspoilt by mass tourism. The country has plenty to offer and boasts an incredible variety of scenery, wildlife and activities including horse riding on the Nyika Plateau, hiking on Mount Mulanje or on the Zomba Plateau, spotting the wildlife in Liwonde National Park or cycling round the countryside. The country is also dominated by the huge clear waters of Lake Malawi, covering more than 20 % of the country and teemed with countless, brightly coloured fish. For those looking for pure relaxation and watersports, the Lake Malawi and its sparkling waters and nice lakeshore is the ideal place to unwind after a safari or more strenuous activities.
Incredibly friendly people, a good climate, an immense diversity of scenery, a vast inland sea and some great wildlife ... you'll quickly understand why Malawi is referred as the 'Warm Heart of Africa'.
