Known as the "oriental republic", Uruguay is one of the smallest of the South American countries. The capital, Montevideo, hosts more than half of Uruguay's population. There are also the glamorous hotspots, natural meadows and extensive wetlands, bird and whale watching, thermal springs and world heritage historical centers. The country maintains benchmark sustainability with the careful preservation and concern for the environment.
