Pt Nitya Kelana Indah is a PT or limited liability company, according to Indonesian law.

 

The company was initiated in 1996 by Marc Jacobs and Marleen Castelein, two Belgians who have a combined professional experience of more than 40 years in the travel industry.

They continue managing the company up to date.

 

Before they moved to Indonesia, both Belgians worked, managed and owned an outbound travel company in Belgium.

 

Kelana DMC is based in Bali, at the heart of the Indonesian tourism industry. Through a network of affiliated companies and own representatives, they are able to operate all over the Indonesian archipelago. Wherever a visitor can go, Kelana DMC can organize his/her stay.

 

What is in a name ?

 

The full name of the company lists as Pt Nitya Kelana Indah. Kelana is the Indonesian word for  'wanderer', while nitya, derived from Sanskrit, stands for a  'positive future' and indah means 'beautiful' in Malay. This was deemed to be an appropriate name for an inbound travel company in a country like Indonesia, with its intriguing mix of cultures and religions.
